GAVIN VAN WYK founded the company in the year 2012. He founded the business on the basis of passion for the industry and a love for the people of this nation. On the 3rd of April 2013 Gavin was shot on one of our clients properties, it was a normal Wednesday morning for APR security as he went on his guarding site inspections. Two robbers entered the property and after a tussle between the suspect and Gavin, the suspect fired a shot from point blank range into Gavin’s jaw the two suspects fled the scene and Gavin was rushed to hospital.
I thank God that I survived the incident it can only be a miracle that a bullet stops in the jaw bone from a point blank range. No one will ever understand crime until they have become part of the crime statistics; this very incident has fuelled an even deeper passion in me to build a security service that will be of excellence, our companies every day focus is to assure the safety of our clients and to make sure that they won’t become part of that number.
